For the 40k 9th edition core book
This one was fun and challenging, got to make up a bunch of Xenos/aliens to fill out the background a bit and show the galaxy isn’t just space elves, space orks and space marines. I know a fair few of you have names and ideas of what they could be, I’ve been reading them, I also had some of my own whilst creating them.
I had to try and make them look alien but still 40k looking .It took concepting, painting them up, designing and laying out how they’d graphically sit in the frame and page… and then rendering that up over a relatively tight deadline ( the cables connecting to the corners on the last slide was a great idea by our fantastic book designer Joel who put the whole book together). Hopefully It was successful, It was done a long while ago now (about two years I think) so I’d definitely change things up a bit.
That’s pretty sick. what are the names of the different xenos present?
I’ve only been able to identify 2 with an certainty and I’ve tagged them below the artwork.
The orb might possibly be the Umbra.
Its not the same as the orbs featured on Astartes, as the creator made those up himself and the sphere shape is is just a coincidence.
Im trying to remember the possible name for the puppet masters
