Advanced Search Tool

This search tool lets you find artwork by main categories, subcategories, composition type, image size, and specific artwork tags covering nearly 1,000 details from faction chapters to creatures and characters. You can use any combination of filters together, or use Artwork Tags on their own as a powerful standalone search. If you just want to search by keyword, use the standard search tool in the navigation above.

Important: this tool uses AND logic — every filter you select must be present in the result. The more options you choose, the fewer results you'll get. If you're getting no results, try removing one or two selections and searching again.

Main Categories
What this filters: The primary subject or focus of the artwork. Select one or more factions or themes that must be the main focus of the image. Every category you tick is required — selecting Space Marines + Necrons returns only artwork where both are prominently featured, not artwork with just one of them. More selections = fewer results. Start with one category and add more to refine.
Subcategories
What this filters: Secondary subjects that appear in the artwork but are not the main focus — for example, a body on the ground, a vehicle in the background, or an environmental element. Each subcategory you select must also be present in the result. Combining a Main Category with a Subcategory is the most powerful way to narrow your search — for example, Space Marines (Main) + Orks (Sub) returns artwork where Space Marines are the focus and Orks appear somewhere in the composition. Leave this blank if you only care about the primary subject.
Portraits & Poses

What this filters: The composition and framing of the figure(s) in the artwork. Use these to find artwork by how the subject is presented. Options range from tight Headshot crops to full Full Body compositions, Action poses, and Group scenes. Like all other filters, these use AND logic — selecting multiple poses will require all of them to be present, which will usually return no results.

Tip: pick just one pose type for the best results.

Size Aspect

What this filters: The shape and orientation of the image. Useful if you're looking for artwork to use as a wallpaper, phone background, or print at a specific size.

Select only one — images have a single aspect ratio, so selecting two will always return zero results.

What this filters: Specific details tagged to individual artworks — covering everything from named factions and subfactions, to creatures, characters, weapons, environments, and more. There are nearly 1,000 tags available. Unlike Main Categories, artwork tags describe any part of the image — whether it's the central subject or a minor element in the background. For example, Ultramarines and Iron Warriors are both tags, so you could search for artwork featuring both chapters together. Similarly, Blood Angels and Carnifex are both tags — useful for finding a specific Space Marine chapter facing a specific Tyranid creature. This is the most flexible way to search. If you know exactly what you're looking for — a specific chapter, a named character, a creature type — start here. Type any word to search across all available tags. As with all filters, every tag you select must be present in the result. One or two tags will give you the broadest results; adding more narrows it down significantly.

Tip: Artwork tags work great on their own without needing to set any categories above.
