40K Gallery is a curated online gallery of Warhammer 40,000 artwork, both community fan art and officially published pieces. It brings together thousands of works from artists around the world, organized so you can browse by artist, by faction, and by art style, with a link back to each artist's original work.

No. 40K Gallery is an independent, fan-run gallery. It showcases both community fan art and official published artwork, always with credit, but it is not run, endorsed, or sponsored by Games Workshop. Warhammer 40,000 and all associated names, characters, and imagery are the intellectual property of Games Workshop.

Both. The gallery has fan and community art as well as official art. Anything that has been used in an official or licensed Games Workshop product is tagged "Published," and a star appears on its thumbnail in the gallery so you can spot it at a glance. Currently there are 4,683 official works on the site.

40K Gallery is run by me, Casey. I've been a 40K fan since the Rogue Trader days: playing, painting, reading, and collecting for a long time, and the art was one of the things that pulled me in to begin with. I hand-pick every piece on the site, both from my own searching and from submissions, and if I feel a piece is good enough to go up, I post it.

The gallery currently holds 15,570 pieces of Warhammer 40,000 art from 1,899 artists, and it keeps growing. (These numbers come straight from the site, so they're always current.)

You'll find the major 40K factions in the main navigation, grouped under Mankind, Xenos, and Other. Each of those breaks down into tags, and a tag can sit under one faction, several factions, or the miscellaneous group. Tags are listed alphabetically by first letter and also grouped under the major faction they belong to. There's also the standard search at the top, which searches by artist name, title, tags, and page text, plus an Advanced Search if you want to refine and drill down.

Yes, those live in the tags: individual Chapters, klans, aspects, and more. I'm always adding and refining tags, so if you spot something that's mis-tagged, please let me know.

Yes. Pieces are tagged by style, so you can filter to digital painting, cel-shaded, photorealism, stylized characters, traditional media, or line art depending on the look you're after.

Click the Artists link, where they're listed by their main name, and by their real name if that's known. You can also search their handle through the standard site search.

Yes, though there isn't a dedicated tag or category for it yet.

Each piece is the copyright of its creator, or, for officially published works, of Games Workshop or its licensed publisher. Either way, 40K Gallery does not own the artwork and cannot grant rights to it, and Warhammer 40,000 itself remains the intellectual property of Games Workshop.

You can download the web-quality image, and sharing on social media with credit and a link back is always welcome. Downloading isn't the same as permission to reuse it, though. Each piece is the artist's copyright, so for reposting as your own, commercial use, prints, or licensing, please contact the artist directly through the links on their page. See the Image Usage and Licensing Terms for the full details.

Reach out to the artist who created the piece. Every artwork and artist page links to that artist's website and social channels, which is the right place to request permission or discuss licensing. 40K Gallery does not sell or grant usage rights on artists' behalf.

Every piece names its artist and links back to their site and social profiles wherever I have them. I spend hours searching to track down the right artist for each work and to do my best to verify it's genuinely theirs. I try hard to get it right, but if something is credited incorrectly or mislabeled, please tell me and I'll fix it.

Yes, you can download the artwork. Images on the site are web quality, with a maximum size of 1920px on the longest edge, width or height. If you want print-quality files, you'll need to contact the artist directly. Downloading a piece isn't a license to reuse it, so please see the Image Usage and Licensing Terms.

I always try to find the full piece when I can. Sometimes the complete artwork is only available at a smaller size, and in those cases I'll still choose the full image over a cropped one, so what's on the site is the best version I could find. If you know where to find the full art for a piece, please let me know.

I aim for at least once or twice a week, though some days I'll spend hours posting. There's no fixed schedule: I do this in my free time, so it tends to come in waves.

Yes. On the contact page there's a form to Suggest an Artist or submit commissioned artwork. Not everything submitted makes it onto the site, and I reserve the right to post or remove art at my discretion. Even if I don't post your work, if you have social media I'll follow along, and if something comes up that I think fits, I'll post it.

This is a sensitive and touchy topic, and the general answer is no. If AI was used only as a small part of a piece, like background filler rather than the main work, I'll sometimes post it, and I'll tag it AI-Assisted so it's clear. I also do my best to keep AI scrapers and training bots from using the art on this site for training. My goals are simple: to share our love of this art and to recognize the fans and creators behind these works.

Many of the artists take commissions. Since each one handles that themselves, check the links on their artist page and reach out to them directly.
