Celebrating our anniversary! 25 years of Warhammer 40,000 and 25 years of Tony Hough illustration!
When the first ever Warhammer 40K rulebook hit the shops it had 5 large illos inside which were my first ever published art. To celebrate this anniversary I decided to take one of those establishing illos and give it a full digital paintover – I’ve not altered the image to bring it into line with the modern 40K universe as it evolved over the following 25 years. Instead I had tried to make the image true to the intent of the original, just improving on my bad drawing!!!!
