Here we are again this Thursday (two in a row) with the sixth Primarch of the series.
Jaghatai is definitely the Primarch I knew the least about before painting him. After spending a few days reading and listening to everything I could find about him, I came away with a completely different impression.
It’s ironic that I decided to paint him right after Angron, because in many ways they represent opposite lives. One was tragically marked by eternal slavery, while the other, Jaghatai, was defined by an endless pursuit of freedom—a freedom that accepts neither geographical nor ideological boundaries.
And yet, it is a freedom that seems willing to bend when necessary in order to defend what the Khan believes is right.
I was honestly fascinated by this character, whom I didn’t know nearly as well as I should have. Much like Corvus, I think he is incredibly underrated and far less famous than he deserves to be.
I hope I’ve done justice to the Khan.
I’ll leave here a fragment of one of his quotes that I absolutely loved:
“Everything worthwhile is difficult.”
