Order of the Wild Hunt
The Order of the Wild Hunt, according to the Adeptus Ministorum, is an urban legend, one that slowly spread amongst the verdant worlds of the Gothic Sector in the aftermath of the 13th Black Crusade. Officially marked as losses for the Order of Divine Lamentation in the Cadian conflict, there are murmurs that point to the Ecclisiarchy hiding the truth behind this mysterious Order Militant.
The rumours though, are not tales of a Holy Order with golden bells and choirs spreading the Emperor’s light and guidance. Rather they whisper of a Wild Hunt, shrill cries and haunting music echoing on dark nights, of trees moving, forests coming to life and dryad like maidens tearing through the shadowed foilage on a crazed pursuit.
Amongst the superstitious some believe the Wild Hunt a presage of catastrophe, war and plague, but there are those with first-hand accounts that tell a different tale. One of wilding female warriors in mossy overgrown armour, that burst from the wilderness like the wrath of nature itself, felling the enemies of mankind.
“There’s som’in strange in the deep woods; you take yourself for a long walk and go see, Theres an old battlefield, its overgrown, but the feeling in the air out there, its like you’re being watched, it chills the blood. Thats when you hear it, the trees whispering to each other, deciding if they gon’ let you leave.”
