BATTLE SISTER
Hi everyone! Today is our non-Primarch Thursday.
This time I’m sharing this Battle Sister I worked on over the past few days. As you can see, I’m trying to develop a new approach to anatomy, moving more toward simplification and geometric shapes. It’s not perfect yet, but I feel like I’m heading in a direction that I’m really happy with. I’ve also included the reference I used: the beautiful @ivana.abbate. I took inspiration from a photo of her shot by her sister, @sc0lorita. I hope this is also useful for those of you who have asked me — both here on Instagram and on Reddit — whether I use real people as references. The answer is, of course, yes, for all of my work. Nature is wonderful, and people are all beautiful because of their diversity. For me, a real face is always necessary when creating an artwork, whether it comes from a memory or from an actual image.
What do you think? Do you like this new approach? Of course, it won’t replace my previous visual language — it will simply become something more that I can use and explore in my work.
Thank you all, and I’ll see you next Thursday with FERRUS MANUS.
