Who do you wish stayed loyal? This is kind of a “what if”, of the primarchs that turned traitor, which of them do you wish would have stayed loyal? For Horus Lupercal he is not listed because he was the start of the heresy, for that reason his is not listed.

Though most of the fallen primarchs were somewhat manipulated into Heresy, Magnus, I feel was the most tragic fall

What about Mortarion? His chapter was led into damnation by Typhus.

I’d trade 15 Primarchs to keep Horus.

I genuinely think Magnus and Mortarion were lost causes anyway, because Chaos had its eye upon them from the start. However, Perturabo could have stayed loyal if he got some more recognition for his legion’s work. Moreover, Kurze and even Angron could have stayed loyal with some proper psychological help and support.

Magnus was the emperor’s back up plan and even the emperor tried to save him

He isn’t mentioned much in this comment section, and I can fully understand choosing Magnus (a sentiment I share; he was if nothing else an optimist), though let’s remember that the reason Fulgrim fell to Chaos was because a sword with a daemon in it started twisting his mind. If he hadn’t fallen to Chaos, he wouldn’t’ve been the one to kill Ferrus Manus, and indeed, perhaps Manus could’ve survived the early stages of the Heresy, as his best friend is now at his side. Though at the same time, it’s possible that the Emperor’s Children therefore would’ve become one of the Shattered Legions. Hard to tell what would’ve happened then.

Alpharius and Omegon: those two were shown the outcome of the Galaxy. Granted, they couldve also warned the Emperor. Though if he would have believed them is another question, also he might have decided they were tainted in some way for taking the xenos cabal seriously, they might have had the same fate as the 2nd and 11th legion.

But they genuinely wanted what was best for the entire galaxy.

As for the rest:

Angron genuinely hated the Emperor and had no reason to like him. Big E dicked him over not just because he refused to save his closest friends, he even let the ruling body on Nuceria remain. Big E was in many ways just another “High Rider” to Angron. Maybe Angron wouldve rebelled even without the Butchers Nails and the opportunity presented by Horus.

Konrad: Schizo, he was too far gone, not to chaos but to his own inner problems.

Mortarion: Straight up P____y. Failed to kill his adoptive dad, Big E saves him and hes bitter about it. Then he just whines because of what exactly. Lets his 2nd in command take over half his legion right under his nose. Guy got played, not by Tzeentch but Nurgle.

Fulgrim: Damn shame.

Perturabo: A shame as well but decimating your own legion because they didnt perform to your ridiculous standards, really goes to show how much of a upstanding guy he was. Also never trying to use infiltration tactics in a siege and instead always taking the direct route and just “grinding” away, lowkey not as efficient as he thinks he is.

Lorgar: Again kind of a shame but at the same time he was such a gullible tool. Ontop of obstinate. “No, no, no, the emperor is a god even if he tells me he isnt! It just means hes moooore of a god, I will do what i know he actually wants me to do”. Honest to god white knight turned chaos incel.

Magnus: Did nothing wrong 🙂

Horus: Shame. But at the same time how can all these guys so easily believe what to their knowledge could be a elaborate xenos induced fever dream.

Fulgrim was about to shoot at Horus’s fleet but then eidolon came and brought him the sword that was corrupting him. Magnus was trying to save the emperor but was punished because of the rules. Mortarion hated psykers and anything from the warp but chose demonhood to save his legion. Perturabo was just bitter because Rogal Dorn got all the credit.Curze was always going to go crazy. Alpharius and Omegon were apparently trying to save humanity but who knows if its true since its the alpha legion. Lorgar always needed a god . Angron never liked the Emperor because of what happens on Nuceria.
