A quarter page loose ink brush drawing that used the breakout of the frame as a way to suggest depth in this small illustration.

I had in mind the huge swarms of tropical bats emerging from caves or murmurations of starlings where the movement of thousands of small creatures translates as wispy shapes like smoke across the sky, into which the viewer can read the direction of travel, giving a bit more of a narrative to the scene.
