The Hit List: Tags That Need Artwork

The Hit List: Tags That Need Artwork

Aug 23, 2026

I’ve added a new page called the Hit List, and it’s basically the gallery’s want list.

Here’s the idea. Every piece of art on the site is filed under tags: factions, chapters, warbands, klans, aspects, characters, vehicles, worlds. Some of those tags are packed. Others have a single piece, and a few have nothing at all. The Hit List rounds up the thin ones, every tag with two pieces of artwork or fewer, sorted emptiest first.

If you make art and you’re stuck on what to paint next, that page is a pile of subjects nobody has covered yet. Pick one and there’s a good chance you’d be the first piece under that tag, or the second, which is a pretty good place to be.

If you don’t make art but you spend a lot of time looking at it, it’s a list of things to keep an eye out for. I find most of the gallery by searching, and I miss things constantly. If you’ve seen a piece that belongs under one of these tags, send me the link and tracking down the artist is my job.

Either way, use the contact form or [email protected], and tell me which tag you’re aiming at so I know where you meant it to land.

While I was in there I also changed what happens when you open a tag that has no artwork at all. It used to throw the same “nothing found” error as a bad URL, which was technically true but not much help. Now it tells you the tag is empty and asks you to be the one who fixes it.

One bit of honesty, same as it says on the page itself: everything here is hand-picked by me, so sending something in isn’t an automatic post. Art aimed at an empty tag has much better odds than most, because those are exactly the gaps I’m trying to close, but it’s a hopeful maybe rather than a promise. If a piece doesn’t make it, that’s no reflection on you, just send me the next one.

Like the Unknown Artists list, this is a page I’d like to see shrink. Every tag that gets filled drops right off it. It’s a to-do list, not a permanent fixture, so help me make it shorter.
