House von Valancius is one of the three largest Rogue Trader dynasties operating within the Koronus Expanse of the Segmentum Obscurus, where it maintains a trade-oriented pocket empire stretching across several worlds. Its primary competitors include the Rogue Traders Calligos Winterscale and Incendia Bastaal-Chorda and their respective dynasties. House von Valancius was led until her recent murder by Theodora von Valancius, who was greatly aided in her tasks by the house’s loyal seneschal, the former Navis Imperialis officer Abelard Werserian. Among the several worlds in the von Valancius trade empire is the jungle-covered Agri-world of Janus and the Adeptus Mechanicus-managed Industrial World of Kiava Gamma. The capital of the von Valancius Protectorate in the Koronus Expanse is the Civilised World of Dargonus.
