Necron Lords

A Necron Lord is the most sophisticated of the ancient species of soulless, machine xenos known as the Necrons and a former noble of the Necron dynasties. A Necron Lord serves as the commander and energy supply for the much larger Necron armies composed of the standard Necron Warriors. When the ancient Necrontyr gave up their organic bodies through the process of biotransference at the behest of the C’tan, they transferred their consciousnesses into new machine bodies made of the living metal “necrodermis.” However, they soon discovered that over an extended period of time, these robotic forms dulled their minds and their ability to feel any type of emotion or pleasure. Over many millennia, the ultimate outcome of this process of gradual desensitisation was that the vast majority of the Necrons.
