Traditional Media

Traditional media is art made with real tools on real surfaces, or made to give that impression: watercolor, ink washes, gouache, and paint on paper or board. This is the category for work you could hang on a wall and actually see the texture of, where pigment pools, paper grain shows through, and no two marks are ever quite the same. Some pieces are the real thing and some are digital work that captures that handmade look, but they share the loose, atmospheric quality only physical media brings, from muddy sepia war machines to washes of color bleeding across a page. It carries a nostalgic echo of classic Warhammer 40,000 art from the early rulebooks and Black Library covers, before everything moved to the screen. If you value the warmth, imperfection, and tactile honesty of art made by hand, or art that convincingly evokes it.
