Aethon Shaan is a veteran of centuries within the Raven Guard, having served across the 10th, 8th, 4th, and 1st Companies before rising to command the 4th. A master of stealth and precision, his reputation was cemented during the invasion of Ultramar in 854999.M41, where he led elite operatives in support of the Ultramarines. His infiltration skills were so refined that even Scout Sergeant Telion failed to detect his presence. Tasked with capturing the renegade Raven Guard Ardaric Vaanes, Shaan conducted multiple high-risk operations sabotaging the Chaos-held city of Axum, aiding Uriel Ventris during a trap set by Honsou, and later playing a decisive role on Calth by destroying the Chaos command vehicle Black Basilica. Throughout these campaigns, Shaan demonstrated lethal efficiency, saving allies in critical moments and adapting to shifting loyalties, particularly when Vaanes ultimately died fighting against Chaos.
