Another one off the Hit List. The Atlantian Spears had zero art in the gallery, not one piece carrying the tag, so I made one.
They are a Blood Angels successor of unknown Founding, and their lore has a detail I could not stop turning over. When Hive Fleet Leviathan came for Baal, Dante put out the call for aid and the Atlantian Spears did not answer it. Not treachery. They were already fighting their own war out in the Segmentum Tempestus.
So I painted that war instead. Gargoyles filling the sky, capillary towers already up and feeding, the whole world going green. He is planting his banner on his own rock in the middle of it, sword still dripping. The teal and the trident are theirs. The winged skull and that one drop of blood are Baal, still on the standard whether they came or not.
Everybody has their own Tyranids.
