The traitor guardsmen believed that their saviors would come to save them, that the dark gods would send their angels to rescue them ,their humble servants cut off from the divine light of chaos. They would look up to see the fire in the sky and the while the naive cheered as they believed the ruinous powers hadn’t forsaken them, but the wise among them knew that their day of judgement had come and that the Ire of the Imperium would be very shortly focused on them. “we were wrong” were the last words spoken before the sound of gunfire and screaming drowned out the rest.”
