Sergeant Grax survived the fall, his blade pinning the heretic astartes into the ground as they both shattered on impact. Isolated and without comms it wasn’t long until the enemy forces found him
Grax fought his way out of the teeming nest of insurrection militia, with his power pack heavily damaged his movements began to slow as it reduced in function. Blunt weapons and small arms fire were of no serious risk to him in his power suit, muscle fiber bundles working or not, but it was critical he managed his surroundings to prevent being overwhelmed.
Making his way to a known objective point at the base of the upper spire Grax made contact with Major Reinfeld. The dock bay was the intermediary position between the lower hive and the aristocratic residence above making it a natural rally point. The krieg Major had the Astropath asset in tow as well as the remainder of troops that had escaped the traitor Astartes’ butchery. Their remaining force, woeful compared to their initial failure projections, made their way into the grand halls that preceded the relay.
Resolved to stand guard at the door to the Astropathic Relay Grax braced himself. Surveillance of these areas was a certainty and after clearing out the ill prepared garrison Grax knew a sizeable force would come to meet them. The currency of his life now had a definitive value, it will be spent here so that those in the God Emperor of Humanity’s service can rally support from beyond the system’s encircling warp storm.
Only in death, does duty end.
