Black Knights
Special thanks to @serdjek91 once again for this beautiful piece. Something that’ll go on my wall soon enough. Couldn’t not thank him enough. Here’s a continuation of the story as well!
“They brought the Imperium to its knees,” Talos continued, his tone unwavering, “their shadow threatening to smother the Emperor’s light. But we endured. We purged them with fire and blade. The Maethrillion may not yet match the horrors of the Rangda, but mark my words, Sergeant: they will grow stronger if left unchecked. We must strike with the fury of the heavens and leave no trace of their taint.”
Hadrian nodded grimly. “Your counsel is clear, Lord Ancient. We shall wield the Stormwing’s firepower with precision. Every strike will be a death blow, every engagement a purge.” The retinue reached the landing docks, where a massive Thunderhawk awaited them, its engines humming softly in preparation for departure. The air was thick with the smell of machine oil and sanctified incense, the rites of departure being carried out by Techmarines and tech-priests. Talos turned his massive frame toward Hadrian, his voice softer yet still commanding. “Remember this, Sergeant: victory is not achieved by pride or zeal alone. Study them. Know them. Only by understanding your foe can you ensure their total annihilation.” Hadrian saluted, the Sternguard veterans following suit. “By your wisdom, Lord Ancient. We shall not falter.” As the Thunderhawk’s ramp descended, the Sternguard boarded in silence, their resolve unshaken. As the engines roared to life and the Thunderhawk ascended into the stormy skies of Axios, the warriors of the Black Knights prepared to bring the Emperor’s wrath upon a foe whose time was swiftly running out.
