Hello brothers and sisters!
Here’s the third Primarch on the series, and it had to be the Great Khan. The missing commander of the V legion of Space Marines, the White Scars. You guys showed me with your votes months ago he is a very loved guy, and after reading a bit about him I completely understand why you people like this freaking aura master.
Got to tell you I’ve found his armor is one of the most complex and detailed I’ve seen, with no spot without some kind of equipment or decoration, and that has made painting Jaghatai an interesting and intense task (I wasn’t able to finish and post it yesterday, so nothing posted last week, therefore Instagram will probably punish me…again…I’m a social media master as you can see)
I’m very happy with this one. The armor came out pretty nice, the perspective feels correct, the proportions look powerful, the pose is heroic, the colors work well together and the light makes him pop, but if there’s one thing I’d like to point out is that I’m very, VERY proud of the face.
Being the part of the illustrations I feel less confident with, I think this time simply worked, from the beginning till the end without redoing it multiple times. Don’t know exactly why it work this time while others is a complete struggle, but there he is. Proud, fierce, confident, with Mongolian reminiscence AND beautiful.
For the background I just played with some alien-esque sky, and used that greenish/purpleish palette to make it feel a bit more Drukhari. He has been hunting those psychotic dark space elves for centuries, so where could he be happier?
Hope you like it people!
And remember, crits and comments are always welcome!
