I really wanted to do something much more dynamic and natural looking with the big monster to give it the feel of a real creature but was specifically requested to put it in this exact pose held by the small plastic figure. The bright multi colours were also what was wanted – I would have preferred to leave out the flags as they made figure composition tricky but these were very much part of the product at the time.
