Sanguinius vs Bloodthirster
I almost didn’t make this. I started looking for reference and found that someone else had already painted this situation. The basic sketch was on my computer for months. Then I found top 10 list of advice for artists. And one of em was “Everythings been done… but not by you.” Originality is really overrated. I mean, some of the greatest artist throughout history have used other source material. Michelangelo didn’t invent the stories he portrayed on the sistine chapel. Rembrandt did a sketch of the last supper, despite leonardo having already created his master piece. So I decided, what the hell, this may have been done before, but that doesn’t mean I can’t give it a go. I worry that the motion blur sort of blurred his left leg, so I kind of dilineated it a little bit. But tried to not over power the motion blur. Also, this is my take on Sanguinus’ armor, I know there are many canonical differences.
