Senechal of the World Eaters
Here’s a final rendered version of my homegirl Val! For those who still don’t know her, she is an original character of mine, Senechal of the World Eaters 16th Company, stationed on the Battlebarge ‘Merciless’ during the Horus Heresy.
Even if they seldom appear in the novels nowadays, Senechals were a neat idea introduced by Anthony Reynolds in his works on the World Eaters, and make for an interesting human-astartes dynamic. They are chosen somewhat arbitrarily by their overlords, but get to act as counselors, servants and heralds for a Centurion or Captain.
This concept represents Val in an advanced stage, when her importance within the ship and its logistics is at its peak. As the World Eaters delve into madness, she’s going to have to make sure they remain a functioning force in even more ways. Just imagine having to make stuff work on behalf of your WE captain after the Shadow Crusade…
