“The Thunderhawk had entered the atmosphere, its engines’ leaving a black smoke contrail in its wake as it cut through the cloud layers. Caeldik, its lone passenger, held his blade close, examining its edge for any impurities missed before; there were none. The former sergeant looked up as the forward landing gate opened, revealing the rocky, wet terrain below. He stood up and made ready for his mission, approaching the open gate; this was the time of vengeance, and no life would be spared this day. With one hand, he slid his helmet back over his face, the helmet pressurizing with a slight hiss as it reconnected to his armor. With the other hand, he grasped his weapon, looked below, and leapt.”
