Another piece commissioned by Stgoodson (Thank you so much!)
Plenty of elements in the background helped tell that narrative, the Thunderhawk, the drop pods and that lone Primaris marine behind the captain.
The addition of the Thunderhawk was particularly useful because without it, the black of the iron halo would be lost in the dark purple of the background.
The Primaris marine helped added more visual weight to the bottom of the image. Without it the captain would look like it was falling toward to the right.
Anyway I had fun painting this. Thanks again to Stgoodson for the commission!
