WATCH MASTER CORTEZ
DEATHWATCH
Following the death of the preIvious Watch Master at the claws of the Tyranids, Cortez of the Guardians of the Covenant was chosen to assume command of Watch Fortress Enduring Faith. Since taking the mantle, he has become known for pursuing an aggressive campaign against the xenos menace, favouring decisive strikes over wars of attrition. Towering even among his fellow Astartes, Cortez enters battle clad in master-crafted armour and wielding a relic power sword gifted to him by his Chapter before beginning his service in the Deathwatch. A gifted duelist, he is rarely found far from the fighting, often leading kill teams personally and seeking out enemy leaders to break the momentum of an attack. His willingness to stand in the same fire as the warriors under his command has earned him respect throughout the fortress. Though uncompromising in battle, Cortez is regarded as a commander who demands no sacrifice he would not make himself.
