PARASITE TYRANT
HIVE FLEET MANTIS
Throughout the galaxy, Hive Fleet Mantis has encountered megafauna rich sources of biomatter, but highly resistant to conventional consumption methods. Rather than simply combatting megafauna with larger organisms, the Hive Mind spawned a more creative solution. Parasite Tyrants latch onto colossal prey with taloned feet and whipping their tail spear inject their victim with thousands of ripper organisms to devour the host alive.
In extreme situations, it can inject a larger version of embryos borne by their smaller cousins, which mature in several years or several minutes (as required.) They emerge – cutting through the host’s flesh in a shower of gore using their arm blades – revealing a newly formed Parasite Tyrant. Should additional force be required, the parasite tyrant can deliver a paralysing neurostatic shockwave through its blades.
Inquisitor Erasmia Andrestii’s surveillance suggests Parasite Tyrants are even used as shock and awe van- guard organisms. An infected host is catapulted towards a target planet, unleashing thousands of ripper organisms and a new Tyrant against the unsuspecting populace.
